Welcome to Small Blacks




Many clubs, schools, parents and teachers are heavily involved in making the game available to children.  It is the duty of The New Zealand Rugby Union to support, resource and encourage all who do so.

This section shows the Small Blacks Development Model for children aged under 6 - under 7, under 8 - under 10, and under 11 - under 13. 

You will also find other information relating to children’s rugby such as Rippa Rugby, which a non-contact version of the sport developed for primary school children.
