 Law Exam

The New Zealand Rugby Union conduct two Law Exams annually:

  • NZRU Level 1 Theory Exam
  • NZRU Level 2 Theory Exam

If you wish to sit the Level 2 Theory Exam you must first have passed the Level 1 Theory Exam.  Candidates must obtain a mark of 80% or better to achieve a pass.

The exams are primarily developed to enable referees to demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of the laws of the game.  Players, coaches and other game participants are welcome and encouraged to sit these exams.
